Talk with Enviropreneurs

There are entrepeneurs, solopreneurs, socialpreneurs. And then there are enviropreneurs! In April 2017 I was invited to give a talk on enviropreneurship to students from the University of Venda.
The students are currently doing their honours degrees in Environmental Science and are hoping to use what they have learned in new and exciting business ventures.
The workshop was sponsored by The Biodiversity Social Entrepreneurship Initiative which is aimed at improving local communities’ livelihoods by promoting community empowerment. By using practical, innovative and sustainable business development approaches based on indigenous biodiversity, the aim is to improve the skills and capacity of local people, enabling them to contribute meaningfully to economic and social development in their areas.
I was blown away by the enthusiasm and energy the participants had.  It was wonderful to be part of their journey.
