The Dambale community does not have a pre-school for their 50-70 young children aged 1-6. All they currently have is 2 tiny rooms, no toilets, no kitchen and no resources at all for the children. The Baobab Foundation has decided to support the community by building a new pre-school from the ground up.
The Tshikuyu preschool still needed a kitchen and eating area, swing and climbing frame for the children, a water tank and equipment for the classrooms.
Once again supporters from around the world generously donated to the next phase of the project. Donations were received from Blue Sky Botanicals (United Kingdom), EDUR Foundation (Germany), Mediceuticals (Netherlands), Lather Inc (USA), and NeoTrading (South Africa).

‘Graduation’ for pre-school! The EcoProducts Baobab Foundation support a number of pre-schools in various villages in the area. We believe this a vitally important aspect of early childhood development that urgently needs our attention and funding in order to break the poverty cycle. Now the children we’ve been helping to support are ready to ‘graduate’ to ‘big’ school!
Our big event celebrating planting 50 baobab trees was a huge success! We’re thrilled to announce that what began as a dream in November 2013 has become a reality today! We have planted 50 baobab trees in the wild thanks to the help of our wonderful sponsors. Baobab trees can live to over a thousand years old, are tough and sturdy and can survive near desert-like conditions. So why do we need to nurture baobab seedlings until they are strong enough to survive in the wild?
Thank you to LTT Bolt & Nut for their generous donations to the Baobab Foundation. Pre-school creches are sadly neglected in these rural areas of the Limpopo so it’s always great news when we receive donations for much needed equipment and facilities.
